We met at work — Kenny was the auditor, and Niyi was the auditee. And despite what you might expect from a love story, there were absolutely no sparks… just work. 😂
Then COVID happened, work moved from in-person conversations to texts and phone calls, and somewhere along the way, things became a little less formal. After the audit ended, Niyi reacted to one of Kenny’s stories, and that was the beginning of a friendship neither of them thought much of at the time.
Even after Kenny relocated, they stayed in touch — checking in every now and then, sharing little life updates, and remaining comfortably in each other’s orbit.
Then came October 2025, when Niyi decided to change the terms of the engagement and suggested they actually give dating a try. Not long after, Kenny travelled to Lagos, they saw each other again, and suddenly years of casual friendship started to look very different.
And, well… the rest is history.
What started as an audit somehow turned into forever — and ever since that Lagos trip, Niyi hasn’t slept properly. Apparently, falling in love has side effects. 🤍
